Betway Premier League 2016: Our Predictions

Take a look at who we're tipping ahead of the 2016 Betway Premier League Darts which heads to the Barclaycard Arena this week!

Peter Wright v Phil Taylor

“We’ll get the party started” with a repeat of the fixture from 4 weeks ago – which produced an exciting 6-6 draw. However, in the matches since, Taylor has been back to his best, whereas the entertaining Wright has been on the wrong end of a couple of 7-2 defeats. We predict a big win for The Power to move further clear at the top of the table. 3-7

Raymond van Barneveld v Gary Anderson

Barney has been well below his brilliant best this season, whereas back-to-back World and defending Premier League champ Anderson has been solid if not scintillating. We’re backing the Flying Scotsman to just edge it against the popular Dutchman here. 4-7

Adrian Lewis v Robert Thornton

Robert Thornton’s comeback has been nothing short of remarkable, after managing just 1 draw until Night 8 (including two 7-0 defeats) he has turned it around since and survived Judgement Night by the smallest of margins. Unfortunately we can’t see that charmed life continuing, and can see Jackpot recording a big victory here. We’re sticking our necks out and predicting a 7-0 whitewash! (Sorry The Thorn!)

James Wade v Michael van Gerwen

Two former Premier League champs clash in what should be a quality match. James Wade has been in impressive form of late, and was unlucky to lose two weeks ago to a red-hot Adrian Lewis. He’s also the only man in the league this year with a victory over van Gerwen. On the other hand, MVG hasn’t quite been his usual imperious self, drawing no less than 4 matches already. With all that said, we still have to side with Mighty Mike to defeat The Machine in what could be a thriller here. 7-5

Peter Wright v Gary Anderson

As we’re now down to the final 8 players; Birmingham will get to see two of them play again. And not only that, they’ll be treated to Peter Wright’s infamous walk-on once again! Sadly for him, we think that will be his highlight of this game, and although Snakebite should put up a good fight, we’re backing Anderson to score a double on the night. 4-7

Oh, and seems we mentioned Peter Wright's walk-on, we'll just leave this here for you to enjoy...
