The Big Reunion Christmas Party Review

With many gig-goers dressed in their Santa hats and tinsel, the excitement was growing in Forum Live with everyone ready for a sing-a-long. As soon as the Christmas countdown started and 5ive took to the stage, the audience erupted and were treated to a great night of pop classics and festive favourites.

As one of my all-time favourite pop groups as a child, 5ive were probably the highlight of the night for me and performed all their biggest hits including ‘Keep Movin’ and ‘If Ya Gettin’ Down’. The hours that I spent as a child learning and perfecting the synchronised dance moves, especially from the music videos of 5ive and Atomic Kitten, were not wasted as me and most of the audience were all dancing along to each hit.

It has to be said that each act were incredible: B*Witched got the crowd moving with their Irish jig, 911’s ‘Bodyshakin’ was insane, Liberty X performed ‘Just A Little’ with their trademark sticks, Honeyz showed off their vocal talent with their slow jams and Atomic Kitten brought the house down with ‘Whole Again’.

The second half of the show was also delightful as each of the artists came back on stage and performed Christmas classics which had the whole Arena singing along and getting into the festive spirit. Songs such as The Pogues’ ‘Fairytale of New York’ and Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas is You’ were amongst the hits played and of course, they ended on The Big Reunion Christmas single.

It was a great show and a great night, everyone left feeling full of festive cheer and joy. How could you not when you got to sing-a-long to some Christmas songs with some of the best in 90’s pop talent!
