Birmingham Velo Takes Over The Midlands

On Sunday 24 September 2017 in the heart of Birmingham, 15,000 cyclists will line up to start their unforgettable 100 mile route, taking them through the picturesque Worcestershire and Herefordshire countryside before heading home to the Barclaycard Arena!

100 miles. Closed roads. 15,000 cyclists. What more would you want? On Sunday 24 September 2017, over 15,000 cyclists will line up to start an unforgettable 100 mile route on completely closed roads, taking riders on a picturesque journey through the Worcestershire and Herefordshire countryside before returning home to Birmingham.

After crossing the finish line on Broad Street, all the riders will celebrate right here at Barclaycard Arena, the Race HQ, with all their friends and family! 

Whether you are a seasoned sportive rider, a cycling newbie on a mission to complete a century ride or a charity fundraiser in search of an epic challenge, Vélo Birmingham will deliver an unforgettable experience for each and every participant.

So, here's what riders will get from Birmingham Velo...

  • A spectacular 100 mile route on closed roads. 
  • You’ll start your 100 mile adventure smack bang in the middle of Birmingham City Centre. 
  • We know you’re fed up of having to pay a fortune for your event photos, so we’re giving them to you absolutely free. 
  • Gels, bars, tasty treats, mechanical support… live music! Our four Rider Pit Stops on the route will be so good you won’t want to leave.
  • The guys at Global Cycling Network (GCN) will provide you with exclusive training videos jam-packed with expert advice. Trust us, you’re in safe hands!
  • The Vélo Birmingham ‘Domestiques’ will be riding alongside you, offering gels, mechanical support, top tips and lots of banter!
  • Forget goody bags full of flyers and shampoo sachets, ours is going to be full of awesome surprises that you won’t want to throw away.
  • We think you deserve a big, chunky medal when you complete a 100 mile sportive… and that’s exactly what we’re going to give you.
  • Finally, if you expereince a pesky puncture or something more serious, the guys will be on hand to give you the support you need.
