Finalists Confirmed: Firestone's Battle Of The Bands

ASHFIELDS are a five piece indie pop band from Nottinghamshire, the band formed in late 2015 and quickly released their first EP 'HomeTown', along with this release the band headlined a packed out show at The Bodega in Nottingham. ASHFIELDS have gone on to support bands such as Beach Baby, Judas, Holy Esque, Native People, Chameleons Vox and Delamere, they have had four tracks featured on BBC Introducing East Midlands and also headlined a BBC Introducing show at Rough Trade Nottingham.

The band has released two albums: The self-titled debut album in March 2015 and the latest release, ‘Lucky 13’ in April 2016. The second album has been a much larger success, reaching number 2 in the Amazon Blues Charts and number 2 in the iTunes charts. The album has also been voted ‘Pick of the month’ by the Independent Blues Broadcasters Association.

No Sunlight are an Alternative/ Post Hardcore band from Manchester UK. The band formed in mid-2014, and since then they have supported various UK touring bands across Manchester and the Midlands. The bands musical style involves fast and heavy guitar riffs with melodic and catchy vocal melodies. Influences include the likes of Thrice, Jimmy Eat World, Brand New & Alkaline trio. Plans have been made to release a full EP in 2015!

Underground Empire are a band who strive for a brand new sound- utilising a plethora of influences and an eclectic palette of sounds to create something truly unique. With elements from traditional classic rock and modern indie right through to reggae and trip hop. Their material strikes a balance between raucous rock n roll and haunting melodic meanders.  There's something for everyone amongst their catalogue of songs. A band for all music lovers.

Stuart Attfield, brand manager at Firestone, caught up with the guys from Birmingham Mail: "We are thrilled to be running Battle of the Bands for a second year, following an extraordinary successful competition in 2015.

"We see Battle of the Bands as being adventurous, bold and full of originality. We think it is unique for the tyre industry to be thinking along these lines and we can't wait for the entries to come in to us.”
