Biffy

5. THE RAIN
Neil Anderson, who worked as the tour manager with the band for over 14 years, also featured this song his Top 10 favourite Biffy tracks, so it must be good. Neil had this to say on the track: “Simon would often play it at sound check. Despite it being an acoustic song, I like how present the drums are. The cymbals make me think of tiny mechanical music box ballet dancers. It’s such a lovely, lovely song, and it breaks my heart every time. I think this was our sound engineer’s favourite song, for the duration of the Opposites tour. “

4. HOWL
Yeah, it’s the newest release from the lads, but man it’s brilliant! The riff is super catchy, the chorus is easy to pick up and it goes hand in hand with a commute to work…honestly it does. Whether you’re sitting in traffic, stuck under someone’s armpit on the train or having a gentle stroll along the street, this song will be your best travel buddy. Trust me, try it tomorrow, you won’t regret it!

3. BLACK CHANDELIER
Now, this is a straight up anthem. Black Chandelier entered the Top 10 in both the Scottish and the UK Rock Charts and it's easy to see why. You'll still hear this blasting out in almost every indie/rock bar and there's a 90% chance you'll be able to sing-a-long to the majority of the song...if not just throw up those rock horns and soak in the riff!

2. BIBLICAL
You can’t have a countdown of top Biffy songs without the track which arguably is one of their best known hits, Biblical. The 2013 single peeked at number 3 in the UK Rock Charts and for me, was the standout track on Opposites.

1. MOUNTAINS

This was the first Biffy song that caught my attention way back in 2008 and still to this day makes it on to all my favourite playlists including…’BBQ 2K16’, ‘Lads, Lads, Lads’ and ‘Road Trip Bangers’ to name a few. It’s the ultimate anthem – and if you can resist belting out the chorus everytime you hear it, well, the you’re a better person than me. Hit play and get singing those lungs out!
