Top Five Jean-Michel Jarre Collabs!

The influential producer has worked with a long list of recognised artists, from DJ's to pop bands, becoming one of the most in demand muscians in the industry. Here's our top 5 collaborations featuring The Godfather of Electronic Music…

In recent years, Jean-Michel Jarre has worked with SO many artists including the likes of Primal Screen, Gary Newman, Peaches, Cyndi Lauper and DJ legend Armin van Buuren to name a few, but below are our best of the bunch…

Jean-Michel goes all ‘Made In Chelsea’ on us…

The Godfather of Electronic music teamed up with M83, the guys behind the super catchy Made In Chelsea theme tune, for the 2015 hit ‘Glory’. It’s synthy, it’s melodic, it’s very mid-noughties. It’s a more subtle approach than what we’re used to from The God Father of Electronic Music…but it’s contemporary! The combination of Jarre and M83 is a match made in synth heaven. If you love modern day electro, you’ll love this!

Jean hit us with a Massive Attack

This track featured all over Soundcloud and racked up the hits on YouTube as Jarre teamed up with Robert Del Naja, aka, Massive Attack’s 3D! On release the track was described as the ‘perfect balance of the classic ethereal sounds of Jarre with the underground and experimental sounds of the Bristol duo’. B-Side versions also included a Jarre rework and an extended mix for all you bedroom DJ’s out there!

It’s The End Of The World…

Jarre met his electronic match a few years back when he and REM’s Moby worked together on Suns Have Gone…and it’s 5 minutes and 47 seconds of pure classic electro vibez! It was a standout track on the Electronica 1: The Time Machine and the fact that these two legends combined together on one creation is absolutely mind-blowing – we’d love for another collab please fella’s, cheers.

What Did We Do To Deserve This…

Electronica 2: The Heart of Noise bought more collaborations and they were even more glorious than what we experienced in Jarre’s previous album! One of our faves from not only the EP, but from Jarre’s whole collab catalogue, was this little number he produced with the help of the amazing Pet Shop Boys! ‘Brick England’ has a raw undertone accompanied by the classic PSB vocals – it oozes eighties with a modern twist, we love it!

Zim Zimmer!

Now, the reason I’ve picked this as the top Jean-Michel Jarre collaboration is simple, this is a masterpiece. Hans Zimmer’s cinematic background influences every Jarre inspired riff as the duo seem to merge the best of their talents, roll them together and produce perhaps one of the most dramatic electronic songs you’ll ever here. ‘Electrees’ feels as if it takes you on a journey through the synthy electronic genre, toying with emotions and leave you feeling utter breathless. It’s a timeless classic.

Jean-Michel Jarre heads to our arena this October and there’s still a few tickets left, fancy joining us? Get your tickets now!
