OMG – the hip-hop duo absolutely smashed it last night over at the Barclaycard Arena in Brum! The energy was high, the atmosphere, electric and the performance, on point!

Describing Macklemore and Ryan Lewis I can use many words but the one that truly sticks out is inspiring!

To begin with Macklemore provided us with two supporting acts that really interacted and engaged with the crowd. ‘Xpereince’ who features in the album, warmed the crowd up with his own unique twist on hip hop music, heavily interacting with the crowd witty jokes. Raury, who was a young upcoming artist from Atlanta Georgia, made the crowd even more eager and inspired for the main event. When Macklemore and Ryan Lewis appeared on the stage, the Barclaycard Arena became electric! The first song ‘Light Tunnels’ kicked off and sent the crowd into a frenzy as the energy was 100% from the very beginning. Backed by an incredible team of musicians to recreate the eclectic and intricate sounds from his albums in a live setting they further pushed the boundaries by accompanying each song with an impressive dance routine.

Macklemore himself showcased his brilliant rap skills with each performance and always kept the crowd engaged and keen for more. Ryan Lewis even gave the fans a shocking but superb surprise when he jumped into the crowd, giving people a first-hand experience to the music icon!

Talking us through a journey from his first album The Heist to his current album “This Unruly Mess I've Made” Macklemore also made sure to find time in between songs to interact with the crowd. Quips about his time spent in Birmingham, sharing personal moments from his life and inspiring us with positive words from his music career were some of the hightlights.

Throughout the concert Macklemore entertained us with amazing choreography and performed his hit songs such as ", Thrift Shop and Can't Hold Us. The atmosphere in the arena was fantastic to the point that there was not one person left seated and the energy was buzzing! For the grand finale, Macklemore treated us with not only one but 2 last songs for the concert. The excitement blew through the roof when Macklemore performed the fantastic hit “Downtown” and to our surprise the brilliant Eric Nally joined him on the stage to deliver an energetic performance.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are undeniably an outstanding duo, that is currently the only independent hip hop artists in music today. The music they create is truly amazing and to top it off install the message of positivity and wisdom.

I had an amazing time and could not keep myself from dancing and singing along to every song!
