Less than a year since they last headlined in Birmingham McBusted were back on their Most Excellent Adventure tour, and most excellent it was.

The band were literally catapulted onto their giant arcade machine stage one by one, before launching into the first single from their new album, ‘Air Guitar’. This was followed in quick succession by a medley of songs including the rocky ‘I hate your guts’ and some old crowd favourites ‘One for the Radio’ and ‘Thunderbirds are Go!’

This show was certainly action packed, with the band barely stopping to catch their breath before descending onto the bstage in a replica delorean from the film Back to the Future – even the lighting guys in the rafters were swaying along to ‘Obviously’.

After Danny and James serenading the fans at the back of the arena with an acoustic version of ‘Beautiful Girls are the Loneliest’ the band returned to the main stage as a wedding procession (Dougie making a beautiful Bride) to continue with ‘Crashed the Wedding’.

Consisting of confetti, streamers, pyrotechnics, smoke machines, a live giant battle of Street Fighter on their giant working arcade machine and A kiss cam for ‘All about you’ the band certainly gave us a huge show, playing just enough material from their new album to make sure this tour was not just a repeat of last years and keeping the diverse crowd entertained from beginning to end.

After 12+ years separately or together, these boys just get better and better.
