FIVE CHRISTMAS SONGS YOU HAVEN'T HEARD BUT NEED TO

Look, we love Christmas bangers just as much as the next person - but - once you've listened to Wham, Mariah, Slade and Sir Paul on repeat for weeks, you may be in need of a slightly different take on Xmas tunes...and we've got the Top 5 you need to check out!

Honestly, look, we love Last Christmas, Step Into Christmas is like the ultimate Christmas song and everything and anything by Michael Buble is absolute bliss at this time of the year - but - if you do fancy switching things up a little bit this Christmas, then here's five tracks that will still make you feel super festive, but with a twist!

1. SHE & HIM - HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS

Zooey Deschanel is fast becoming the Queen of Christmas - since starring in Elf back in 2003, Zooey has teamed up with country-folk artist M. Ward to form the indie duet She * Him. Their music can be found on Spotify and Apple Music where they've got a couple of Christmassy albums, some with covers, some with originals, but it's definitely something you need to check out this December!

2. WEEZER - O HOLY NIGHT

Okay, look, don't judge this combination until you've listened to it. Pairing a grungy rock band like Weezer with a Christmas classic may seem like an odd pairing, but trust us, it works.

3. ALOE BLACC - I GOT YOUR CHRISTMAS RIGHT HERE

Say hello to your new favourite Christmas song. Released just last year, Aloe Blacc off of The Man, Wake Me Up and I Need A Dolla fame has produced possibly the most underrated Christmas song ever. It's more festive than a Christmas cracker full of pigs in blankets. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

4. THE WOMBATS - IS THIS CHRISTMAS?

For me, the answer to their questions Is This Christmas? is no, it's not Christmas until I've heard this festive-indie anthem. Released back in 2008, this banger from the Liverpudlian troupe is right up the modern-Christmas classics. I'd have this alongside Coldplay's Christmas Lights and Leona Lewis' One More Sleep. It's brilliant!

5. THE KILLERS - DON'T SHOOT ME SANTA

Funny, silly, Christmassy and very, very Killers-y. Brandon Flowers gives us all the Xmassy vibes in completely different way as The Killers tell a tale of a battle between a boy and Santa accompanied by an alternative Christmas music video. Give it a watch, give it a listen and give it a go!
